On February 14th, 2011 AS Ventbunkers published a press release concerning the ongoing conflict with LUKOIL daughter company LITASCO.

“Riga, Latvia:  Uldis Augulis, the Latvian Minister of Transportation, held an emergency meeting on February 9th, 2011. The meeting was held to find a solution to the 1700 rail car tankers Lukoil subsidiary Litasco has backing up the Latvian railway system.

The meeting took place at 4 pm in the Ministry of Transportation. Representatives from the Ministry, Latvian Railways (LDZ), Latvian customs authority, Ventbunkers (VBU) and Litasco attended. All parties were summoned to find a solution to the emergency situation on the railways caused by 1700 railcar tankers containing Litasco fuel oil.

LITASCO finally takes oil in Ventspils

The latvian online medium kapitals.lv reports on their article dated Febuary 10, 2011, that loading the oil from the Ventbunkers terminals finally started.

This is the first step to solve the horrible situation for the blockes terminals of Ventbunkers in Ventspils port.

LUKOIL daughter LITASCO tries to blackmail Ventbunkers

In their article dated January 19, 2011 – the online platform manaventspils.lv reports on the LUKOIL daughter company LITASCO trying to blackmail AS Ventbunkers.

LITASCO wants to prolong their contract with Ventbunkers – which expired end of December 2010. They try to force Ventbunkers by blocking their terminals.
